Traffic Round About in front of a police station - users flout the rules

Traffic Round abouts are for better safety of the road users. The International Traffic Round about definition is:

A roundabout is a type of circular junction in which road traffic must travel in one direction around a central island. Signs usually direct traffic entering the circle to slow down and give the right of way to drivers already in the circle.

The pity is, this is happening right in front a police station at Annanagar.

I have noticed this behaviour for the last two years. It was not the case before that.

Who is to educate the road users.

Safety takes backseat in India

I am surprised to see painting work lamp post being done at Lattice Bridge Road at 5 PM. I could also see the workers filling pits on the road with semi warm 'Blue metal mixed with tar' and using wooden blocks to level the same. This is the time when the traffic is at peak. There was no warning sign either before 30 meters to caution the road users. [December 2010, 26th , around 5 PM]

My God, Safety takes back seat in India.
